Waste disposal fees

For each mixed waste container, a base fee is charged per month. The fee depends on the container size. The service fee is invoiced for each collection, but at least once per quarter.

The regular emptying cycle is fortnightly. If your bin is permanently insufficient, the landlord must order a larger or an extra container. In case of shortage of space he might apply for a more frequent emptying.

A 120-litre mixed waste sack for use in the case of temporary additional waste costs 8.00 euro.

Illegal secondary disposal of mixed waste up to a volume of 120 litres costs 8.95 euro.

In case of a predictably higher demand, you might request an additional emptying, which is liable a special fee.

Bio-waste containers are emptied every week, regardless of how full they are.
The fee per month per waste bin:

Plastic waste, especially film bags and bin liners made of bioplastics, interfere with the recycling of bio-waste. They can be difficult or impossible to remove. Compost that contains foreign substances such as foil residue is difficult to use.

An additional fee is charged for incorrectly filled bio-waste containers:

Disposing of green waste at recycling depots and collection points costs:

• up to one cubic meter: per 0.2 cubic meter – 1.00 euro
• more than one cubic metre: per cubic metre or part thereof – 5.00 euro

The yellow bin, the yellow sack and the municipal blue bin are free of charge.

All waste management costs for packaging materials are paid by purchasing the product already. Collection and recovery are organised by Germany-wide operating Dual Systems.

Incorrectly filled bins will be collected as mixed municipal waste.

Bulky waste of up to four cubic metres per household for every six months, as well as large household appliances with one side measuring 50 centimetres or more, can be delivered free of charge to the recycling depots if delivered by the customer.

Fee for pick-up from the pavement in front of your house:

• four cubic metres of bulky waste per household for every six months – 25 euro
• one large household appliance 50 cm or more in length – 25 euro

There is a service for express collections within three business days. The fee is 72 euro - this includes the same amount of waste as described above.

Together with large appliances, collected from your home for a fee, small electrical appliances (length less than 50cm) can be collected without an extra fee (except lamps, group 4).

The collection is free of charge once a year per household for Dresden pass holder.

You can put paper, cardboard and glass packaging waste into the recycling containers. There are currently about 640 recycling container sites located in the city area.

The mobile hazardous waste vehicle accepts hazardous waste free of charge when going around in spring and autumn.

At the end of the year, containers for Christmas trees are available at more than 110 sites.

Well-preserved furniture and second-hand goods can be collected by the social furniture service by appointment.

There is an online exchange and gift market, which can be used to give away or exchange second hand goods or place want ads for commodities.

In addition, there are numerous other free collection points for waste and recyclable materials at the recycling depots and waste collection points in the city of Dresden.
