Improvement of the Services Provided by the City Administration

One of the goals of integration politics is that all immigrants equally can use the offerings and services provided by the city administration. Currently, there are problems in certain areas that impede immigrants from taking part on an equal footing. Among the problems are language barriers, the lack of information about the services of the city administration for immigrants, complicated application procedures, and the not yet adequate inclusion of immigrants in the decision-making process.

By 2020, the Dresden city administration should take the following steps:

• Publication of important information in various languages, at least English, Russian, and Vietnamese

• Advising for immigrants in various languages according to need

• Increase in the representation of immigrants who work in the city administration

• Regular training for the employees of the city administration in order to come into better contact with immigrants

• Better integration of immigrants in the decision-making process and the preparation for events, conferences, etc.

• Development and and financial support for special offerings for immigrants

• Creation of an open climate, mutual acceptance, and diversity in Dresden
