Museums in Dresden

Museum of Technology and Industry

Dresden’s Technical Collections are a museum and science centre in one. In exhibitions and educational programmes, key questions relating to current developments in technology, culture and society are linked with Dresden’s traditional role as a high-tech centre. The Erlebnisland Mathematik (Mathematics Adventure Land), the Experimentierfeld (Experimentation Centre), and numerous museum-education offers provide visitors with opportunities to undertake their own experiments and acquaint themselves with natural phenomena, scientific methods and the basics of technology in a playful manner. In times of rapid technological developments and increasing complexity, exhibitions of a whole new kind – for example “Cloud 8. The Climate and Us” – offer orientation and insights. Changing exhibitions introduce regional and international approaches to photography. A café in the building’s 48-metre tower, the Ernemannturm, offers a fine view of the city.
