Dresden by plane

The quickest way to get to the capital city of Saxony from many different places, whether for business or pleasure, is by air. There are excellent non-stop flights between Dresden and airports in Germany (Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Munich, Cologne Bonn, Stuttgart), Switzerland (Basel), the UK (London City, London Heathrow) and Russia (Moscow Sheremetyevo). There are also lots of flight routes to popular holiday destinations on the Mediterranean, in the Atlantic and on the Red Sea. Dresden is accessible from all four corners of the world via the main hub airports.

Airport Dresden International

Dresden Airport is approximately 9 km north of the city centre. For passengers arriving by car and bus, it is easily accessible from the A4 (Chemnitz - Dresden - Görlitz), A13 (Berlin - Dresden) and A17 (Prague - Dresden) motorways and from the B97 federal highway. There are plenty of parking spaces available at the airport, of which 2900 are under cover in the multi-storey car park, which has direct access to the terminal via a glazed pedestrian bridge. Parking spaces can be booked online. A taxi from the airport to the city centre takes between 15 and 30 minutes depending on the traffic, and costs between 16 and 20 Euro.
