be applied for at the registration office (Bürgerbüros).
3. written application
In this case, the informal application letter to the registration office (citizens' offices) must also include the personal data (date of birth, maiden name, possibly differing surname, first name/s, place of birth, nationality, address). The signature on the application letter must be official or publicly certified. If not already evident from the certification of the signature, the accuracy of the data must be proven.
Specify purpose of use when requesting
You must state the purpose of use when applying. If the certificate of good conduct is to be presented to an authority, you also need the exact name and address of the authority and, if applicable, the file number.
Inspection of the certificate of good conduct
If your certificate of good conduct contains entries, you can request first to be sent to a district court named by you. There you can inspect it and determine which entries it contains.
ATTENTION: Please be sure to indicate this request when submitting your application to the Citizens' Registration Office. Please note that the inspection considerably delays the procedure. It should therefore only be requested after consultation and in justified individual cases. The district court will notify you in writing of the reception of the certificate of authority and inform you when and where you can inspect the entries. You can then decide whether the certificate should be forwarded or destroyed.
