How to find what you search for
The full text search scans all pages of www.dresden.de
Use the option »Search in« to limit your search query to a specific field (e.g. English pages).
Try »Search word is« if you want to find only complete words or words with a certain beginning.
Searching for more than one word without any limitation will result in a list of pages that contain any of the search terms.
Use quotation marks to find complete phrases, e.g. "City Hall Tower".
You can also combine or exclude search words with the help of logical operators (and / or / not):
- & (= and)
- | (= or)
- ~ (= not)
The search function will be affected as follows:
- cat & dog:
searches for documents with the words cat and dog. - cat | dog:
searches for documents with the word cat, for documents with the word dog and for documents with both words. - cat ~ dog:
searches for documents with the word cat, which do not contain the word dog.
Furthermore, you can affect the influence of the operators by using brackets – just as known from mathematics:
- (dog ~ cat) | (cat ~ mouse):
searches for documents with the words dog, but without the word cat, and for documents with the word cat, but without the word mouse.
Upper and lower case letters do not influence the search results.
