Business Location Dresden
Business Parks and Industrial Estates
Suitable commercial real estate as well as a competitive, efficient infrastructure are among the most important factors in deciding in favor of a particular location and a specific investment.
Since the mid-1990s, the City of Dresden has invested more than 175 million euros into the expansion of the infrastructure and the development of municipal industrial zones. With subsidies available from the Free State, the Federal Government, and the EU, the developed zones are now available at very low prices to businesses eligible for support.
In current development projects, this development strategy continues to be pursued rigorously. The primary focus includes the key sectors microelectronics/ICT, life sciences, and new materials/nanotechnology as well as small and mid-sized enterprises and industrial complexes.
In marketing these commercial properties, the city cooperates closely with the private owners so that the right property may be found for any project. The five business incubators provide ideal conditions for the specific requirements of business founders and young enterprises while at the same time establishing close proximity to the scientific community.
Numerous business setups which include such spectacular examples as AMD/GLOBALFOUNDRIES (total investment of more than 12 billion euros), the Fraunhofer Center Nanoelectronic Technologies CNT (an investment of 290 million euros), and Plastic Logic (an investment of 100 million euros) as well as the continuous expansion of local enterprises clearly demonstrate that businesses feel right at home in Dresden and have enough room for their individual development.
