Data privacy statement

The City of Dresden attaches great importance to the privacy of your personal data. We have therefore implemented a whole catalogue of technical and organisational measures to ensure that all regulations concerning data security are observed.

Legal basis

The City Administration portal operated by the City of Dresden at www.dresden.de is to be deemed a teleservice. The portal is thus subject to the stipulations of the German Teleservices Act (Teledienstegesetz, TDG) and the German Teleservices Data Protection Act (Teledienstedatenschutzgesetz, TDDSG). In addition, the provisions of the Saxon Data Protection Act (Sächsisches Datenschutzgesetz, SächsDSG) are also applicable.

Automatic data acquisition

It is possible to use the service portal without disclosing personal data. The term personal data is here understood to mean individual data on the personal or material status of a specific or specifiable natural person, in other words above all data which are connected with a name or from whose context a reference to a name could be directly construed.

Whenever a user accesses the portal, the following data are recorded for purposes of security monitoring and for statistical evaluation:

  • IP address of the user host
  • Date and time of the information request
  • Client software of the computer submitting the request, i.e. generally the browser type and the desired access method/function
  • Input values transferred to the portal (e.g. search terms)
  • Access status of the web server (e.g. file transferred, file not found, command not executed) and the name of the file retrieved

The recorded data are deleted following evaluation and security confirmation.

Submission of personal data

Use of the contact form, order forms and certain other online services require that personal data be submitted to be able to perform the requested services.

All personal data are acquired and saved exclusively for the corresponding purpose. Under no circumstances will they be made available to third parties.

Contact form

To facilitate contact, we have provided a form in which you can enter your name, your e-mail address, the subject of your message and the message itself. Messages submitted with the contact form are not automatically encrypted. It cannot be excluded that unauthorised third parties may gain access to unencrypted data during transfer. As an option, the contact form can also be called with SSL encryption activated.

Order forms

When you request information or other materials from the City of Dresden, the data necessary to enable sending of this information must be entered. These data are acquired only for processing of the corresponding order and will not be passed on to third parties.

Newsletter

A valid e-mail address must be entered to be able to subscribe to the City of Dresden newsletter. This address is saved in a database together with the settings for the newsletter subscription (requested frequency, selection of topics, etc.) and is essential for realisation of this service.

The specified e-mail address serves furthermore as an access ID to enable the user to modify the saved settings or to end the newsletter subscription.

Online City Hall

The Internet presence of the City of Dresden already incorporates facilities to submit various official notifications and applications online. In such cases, it is necessary to enter personal data of a greater or lesser scope. Data privacy information pertaining to the individual Online City Hall services is to be found on the pages concerned.

Encrypted data transmission

The whole Internet presence can be called with SSL encryption at the user's discretion. Mandatory encryption for certain ordering procedures is under preparation.

Encrypted data transmission excludes the risk of unauthorised third parties gaining knowledge of the data contents.

Safeguarding of data privacy

Staff of the City of Dresden who are entrusted with the processing of personal data are required to undertake to observe the confidentiality of such data, as are likewise the staff of companies commissioned to provide services for the City of Dresden. Corresponding technical and organisational measures have been implemented to ensure that all stipulations concerning data privacy are observed also by external service providers.

Active components

The portal does not use Java applets or ActiveX controls. JavaScript is used only to a limited extent. The essential functionality of the application is not impaired if the use of JavaScript is deactivated in the browser. No permanent cookies are saved, only temporary session cookies, which are deleted when the browser is closed.

External links

The pages of the City Administration portal may contain links to other Internet pages. Such links are identified by way of corresponding symbols, and in most cases also by way of an explicitly specified Internet address. If JavaScript is activated, a new browser window is opened whenever an external link is executed.

The City of Dresden accepts no responsibility whatsoever for the contents of other Internet pages which can be reached via links from the City Administration portal. The links are only checked and evaluated at the time of integration. Continuous monitoring of the contents is neither intended nor possible.
