Dresden celebrated its birthday in 2006. The town presented its new look in time for the anniversary: the new logo.
The logo's main aim is the presentation of the diversity on offer under one umbrella. Dresden sends out a signal which highlights the potential of the city and its citizens. This is why the logo is more than just a graphic image; it stands for everything that characterises the city making it unique and unmistakable.
The new logo makes an impact with its clarity and simplicity. A simple full stop is added to the name of the city.
The statement: Dresden represents its own special characteristics along - no comments or slogans. The characteristic features of the city are mirrored with the simplest graphic images allowing room for the viewer's own association. It shows the position of Dresden on the river and the beauty mirrored in it, but there is also the possibility of changing the perspective.
