Who is responsible for...? - Contacts in the Department of Foreigners Service Office

A new service point will be available at the Immigration Authorities from 09/05/2011 on. The service point will serve as a contact and reception area allowing service recipients to arrange appointments, who wish to present their case in person at the Immigration Authorities, or who cannot contact the Immigration Authorities via technical communication media.

Immigration cases will be processed according to the initial letter of your surname in future as well.

If you intend to come to the immigration authorities with regard to the provision of an official service, a personal appointment must always be made in advance, unless the Immigration Authorities have already invited you to make a personal appearance at their offices.

Without an advance appointment, the only services which can be provided are intermediate processing for registration of your case, and arrangement of an appointment at the new service point.

If you have arranged a personal appointment with the Immigration Authorities, rapid processing of your case largely depends on your punctual arrival for your appointment and bringing all documents required for your case.

We would like to process your case quickly, answer all of your questions and spare you unnecessary long waits. We at the Immigration Authorities therefore want to prepare for your appointment and let you know what documents you need to bring with you when arranging your appointment. That requires that you provide the following information in German when requesting your appointment:

• Surname, first name, date of birth
• The reason for your appointment

Appointments can be arranged or agreed by e-mail, fax, telephone or directly in the Immigration Matters Department, Immigration Law Service Office – Service Point.
