The Party & Club Scene

Dresden knows how to party! Its many different clubs and events make the Dresden party scene a stronghold of clubbing culture. Whether you are looking for electronic music, soul and hip-hop, rock and pop, gothic style or oldies, they are all an important part of the scene and can be found in a wide variety of locations. From an old factory cellar to a shopping gallery to the historic city walls, you can go dancing almost anywhere.

In the summer, beach bars along the Elbe River entice visitors with a South Seas feeling. Hot rhythms make the cold cocktails at »Puro Beach«, »City Beach« and the »Elbsegler« taste especially good. If you don't just want to relax on a lounge chair, there's always beach volleyball or beach soccer – later on, the music is turned up and people dance late into the night.

If you feel like enjoying a pub evening, try stopping by »Weisse Gasse« or »Muenzgasse«. These two gourmet streets in the Old Town have dozens of bars and restaurants with special and unusual offerings. Even in the trendy Neustadt Quarter, pub fans can find what they're looking for. Alaunstrasse and Louisenstrasse are filled with popular traditional pubs, bars and quirky restaurants. During one weekend in the summer, the »Bunte Republik Neustadt« (BRN) transforms Dresden's New Town into a colorful party zone.

Dresden's biggest party is »Unity.Dresden.Night« in November. Thousands of revelers undertake the pilgrimage from one downtown location to the next. DJs, artists, performance acts and bands playing all kinds of music can be found downtown all night long.
