Dr. Daniel Trepsdorf

Dr. Daniel Trepsdorf (Kultur- und Bildungskoordinator der Landeshauptstadt Dresden) wurde 1976 in Finsterwalde/Brandenburg geboren. Von 1997 bis 2006 Doktorat und Studium der Wirtschafts- und Sozialgeschichte (Neuere und Neueste Geschichte), Kommunikationswissenschaften, Politik und Philosophie in Dresden, Windhoek (Namibia) und Johannesburg (Südafrika) sowie am German Historical Institute in London. Er ist Fachkraft für internationale Politik (IB) und Fragen von Entwicklungszusammenarbeit (EZ), Menschenrechtsbildung, Friedensberatung und Konfliktbearbeitung (Peace and Conflict Studies) sowie Rechtsextremismusprävention. Seit 2006 Mitarbeit bei »Bürger.Courage e.V.« (Vorstandsreferent), Kultur- und Projektarbeit im »riesa efau. Forum für Kunst und Gesellschaft« (2007 - 2009), freiberuflicher Dozent sowie Tagungsbetreuer und externer Fachberater der Bundeszentrale für politische Bildung (bpb). Seit 2009 Kultur- und Bildungskoordinator (Projektleiter, Abteilung für Presse- und Öffentlichkeitsarbeit) im Büro der Oberbürgermeisterin der sächsischen Landeshauptstadt. Dr Daniel Trepsdorf (Culture and Education Coordinator of the City of Dresden, state capital of Saxony) was born in Finsterwalde, Brandenburg in 1976. From 1997 to 2006, doctoral research and studies in economic and social history (modern and contemporary history), communication studies, politics and philosophy in Dresden, Windhoek (Namibia) and Johannesburg (South Africa), and at the German Historical Institute in London. He specialises in International Politics (International Relations) and development cooperation issues, human rights education, consultancy in the field of peace studies and conflict resolution, and prevention of right-wing extremism. Since 2006, he has worked (as adviser to the management committee) with "Bürger.Courage e.V." (an organisation working to prevent right-wing extremism), with "riesa efau. Forum für Kunst und Gesellschaft" ("riesa efau. Forum for Art and Society") on cultural and project work (2007 – 2009), as a freelance lecturer and conference adviser, and as external adviser to the Bundeszentrale für politische Bildung/bpb (Federal Agency for Civic Education). Since 2009, he has been employed in the office of the Mayor of the City of Dresden, state capital of Saxony, as Culture and Education Coordinator (project leader, Press and Public Relations Department).
