Almut Meyer zu Schwabedissen

Almut Meyer zu Schwabedissen, M. A., Projektkoordinatorin New Dimensions of Security in Europe (NewSecEU), gefördert von der Europäischen Kommission. Sie studierte Politikwissenschaft und Deutsch als Fremdsprache, Europäische Studien und Spanisch an der University of Manchester (UK) und der TU Dresden, an der Sie auch ihren Magister erworben hat. 2008 arbeitete Sie als Wissenschaftliche Hilfskraft am Lehrstuhl für Internationale Politik. Seit Januar 2009 koordiniert sie das Projekt NewSecEU unter der wissenschaftlichen Leitung von Prof. Monika Medick-Krakau am ZIS der TU Dresden. Ihre Forschungsschwerpunkte sind Energiesicherheit, Friedens- und Konfliktforschung, Sprachen- und Identitätspolitik sowie Lerntheorien. Ihr besonderes Interesse gilt der Entwicklung der Lehre an Hochschulen, sie publiziert gemeinsam mit Christopher Goldsmith zu Online-Lehre und innovativen Lehrkonzepten.

Almut Meyer zu Schwabedissen, MA is project coordinator of “New Dimensions of Security in Europe” (NewSecEU), funded by the European Commission. She has earned her master degree (Magister Artium) in Political Science and German as a Foreign Language at Dresden University of Technology. Prior to her studies in Dresden, she studied European Studies and Spanish at the University of Manchester, UK. In 2008, Almut worked as a research fellow and tutor at the Chair of International Politics at Dresden University of Technology. In January 2009, she became project coordinator of NewSecEU at the School of International Studies, Dresden University of Technology. Her research interests include energy security, international peace and conflict studies, the United Nations, language and identity politics and learning theories. She has a vital interest in the development of university teaching and is currently publishing with Christopher Goldsmith on innovative teaching.
